The new system of pandemic COVID-19 has disturbed health authorities in Montenegro. During the last 24 hours, a person has lost his life while another 1,022 infections have been recorded.
Currently, Montenegro numbers 6,516 active cases, 300 of whom in the town of Ulcinj.
By Friday, new epidemiological measures have been introduced there, under which citizens are forced to wear masks in all public institutions, pharmacies, shops, gas stations, airports and bus stations.
If these measures do not influence the improvement of the situation in the short term and the number of deaths, infection and hospital stays up, Public Health Institute head Igor Galic warned it would become binding to wear masks in all closed spaces.
“to prevent this from happening, in the belief that citizens will respect existing measures and new measures against pandemic, it is necessary that those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 to do so as soon as others receive the reinforcements”, Galic said.
Officials there explained the measures would be in effect by 12 August. / T CH
