Minister Haxhiu today participated in the launching of the monitoring report "The Endowment of Treating Violences from the System of Justice in Kosovo" worked and presented by the EU Mission for State of Law in Kosovo EULEX.
In her address, Minister Haxhiu stressed that sexual violence in Kosovo continues to remain a very big problem for our society, and therefore continued concern for our institutions.
It expressed the Ministry of Justice's continued commitment to improving current legislation and institutional response to cases of sexual violence.
The justice minister briefed those in attendance that the Justice Ministry has already begun drafting the State Protocol for Sex Violence, whose goal is to ensure a set of standard procedures for co-ordinated institutional action against victims of sexual violence, protecting their rights, strengthening and clarifying the role and responsibilities of responsible institutions, increasing accountability and credibility to institutions.
Minister Haxhiu stressed that through drafting this protocol, the Ministry of Justice will be devoted to creating a database for cases of sexual violence, as well as establishing a comprehensive and integrated reporting system between security and justice institutions.
In the end, Minister Haxhiu thanks all the acters for supporting the Ministry of Justice initiatives, as well as the continued monitoring of the situation in Kosovo over sexual violence and their work for this situation to improve.
