Minister Godmbar calls businesses to Ksamil: Be transparent with tourists

Launched by high prices in accommodation or food, Albania's Tourism and Environment Minister Mirela Godbarto and General Tax Director Ceno Klosi have monitored the situation in bars, restaurants and hotels in the Ksamil area.

Godbarko said the prices set the market, but it is very important transparency in relation to customers.

We're monitoring the entire tourist season, from cleanliness, from beach management, but also to make sure that the season goes well over respect for tax obligations. Of course, we don't control prices, it's a free market, but it's very important that we have some kind of clientele calm in relation to transparency“, Godbaro said.

In conversations with several subject managers, Godbarko said they should offer full transparency with menus not only inside but also outside restaurants to avoid misunderstandings with customers, as well as offering tax coupons in any transaction.

New investments related to fiscalisation enable subjects to be monitored in distance by the tax administration without creating the concerns of sudden controls when businesses are at the peak of the tourist season.

This year, according to the general director of Ceno Klosi taxes, it is a priority for businesses to no longer be bothered by massive controls but monitored at a distance and where measures are found.

The reason we came with Tourism Minister Godbarto is because there are complaints about nontransparity. The purpose of the visit is for all businesses to understand that common good is transparency towards tourists because at certain times it can bring small profits, but in the long term it causes irreparable damage“, Klosi said. / TCH
