During the address before the Kosovo Assembly, Meta said on July 22nd that the time has come for the process of dialogue to be revived and concluded with a final agreement.
“I think the time has come for the dialogue mechanism to be re-visited, but always standing on its intentional foundations to produce a final agreement between the two countries that crown mutual recognition”, Meta said.
Meta, who is holding her last visit to Kosovo to the quality of Albania's president, said dialogue has also given Serbia the opportunity to accept that Kosovo's “independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity are irreversible and unchanged”.
Kosovo and Serbia have launched dialogue on normalisation of reports in 2011. Kosovo insists that a final agreement should include mutual recognition, meanwhile, Serbia seeks a compromise solution.
The Albanian president also said that Kosovo and Albania should boost strategic co-operation and target the European Union.
He also demanded that Kosovo liberalise visas, as he said it is “a discrimination that is read by all and accepted by all”.
Kosovo citizens are the only ones in the region who do not enjoy the right to visa-free movement in the Schengen Zone.
