Kosovo police say they have made all preparations to implement reciprocity with Serbia on the issue of personal documents, which the Government made in late June.

Under the direction for crossing border points with personal documents issued by Serbian authorities, all those who have personal documents issued by Serbian authorities, once they enter Kosovo territory, will receive a certificate that replaces those documents. This will be implemented on August 1st.

Kosovo's “Police, based on the Government of the Republic of Kosovo's decision, which concerns the crossing of the state border with personal identification documents issued by the authorities of Serbia, has made all necessary police preparations in the implementation of this” decision, police report.

“As promised by the decision, by 01 August 2022 any person represented for crossing the state border with personal identification documents issued by the authorities of Serbia will be equipped at border crossings with an entry/exit document that temporarily replaces the use of such documents. The entry/ex outlet document will create grounds for circulation on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and for exploitation within state institutions”, it is said further in the announcement.

All Kosovo citizens entering Serbia's territory have this procedure known. Those on the border receive a certificate that replaces their personal documents.
