The Kosovo government on Monday has imposed additional sanctions on Russia due to its military aggression in Ukraine.
Deputy Prime Minister Donika Gervala at today's meeting said that making such decisions would contribute to the continuation of close co-operation with the United States and the European Union.
These sanctions include: limited export measures related to dual-use goods and technology, as well as goods and technology that can contribute to the technological improvement of Russia's defence and security sector.
And restrictive measures preventing new investments in the Russian energy sector.
As well as a sweeping export restriction on equipment, technology and services for the Russian energy industry, except for nuclear industry and the sector in the lower energy transport course.
“Mas limits prohibiting all transactions with several state companies, which are now subject to refinance restrictions and ultimately restrictive measures that prohibit the delivery of credit rating services”, Gervala has stated.
Russia has launched the invasion of Ukraine in the early hours of February 24th. Western states have condemned Russia's actions and imposed sanctions on Moscow.
Of the countries in the region, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania, Northern Macedonia and Croatia have condemned the Russian attack on Ukraine.
Kosovo has joined the United States and the European Union, imposing sanctions on Russia, even during February.
Meanwhile, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are the only ones who have not condemned Russian aggression.
The first sanctions consist of: freezing assets in the Republic of Kosovo to individuals or sanctioned entities, stopping travel in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for sanctioned individuals, prohibitions for individuals and entities in the Republic of Kosovo, to make funds available, whether directly or indirectly, for individuals and entity sanctions.
