In June alone, inflation in Kosovo has reached 14.1%, which is attributed mainly to rising prices in key products such as bread, cereals, meat, oils, eggs, etc.
The newest report by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) about the Consumption Consuming Index for June 2022, notes that monthly inflation measured by the harmonised consumer price index was 1.4% in June 2022, compared to May 2022.
The annual inflation Norma measured in June 2022 with June 2021 was 14,1%”, the report said.
This moderate monthly inflation by the AKS is explained by the rise in consumer prices mostly under the COICOP subgroups, such as bread and cereals that marked growth for 1.1%, meat for 1.4%, sugar, jam, chocolate, chocolate and candy prices with 2.2%, coffee, tea and cocoa 2.3%, alcoholic beverages, 1.5% fuel fuel, fire covers 6.0%, and goods and services for the usual household economy, with 1.8%.
But of all products, the largest growth was the fuel and lubricants for personal transport equipment that marked an enzyme increase of 15.4%, then transportation services increased by 5.9%, organised holidays with 4.1%, hotel services at 2.3%, and personal care at 1.5%.
While price cuts across June have only been observed in COICOP subgroups, such as milk, cheese and eggs with -1.6%, vegetables by -10.9%, and electricity by -0.7%, which, as the AK says, has been due to the decline of consumption (expensations) of electricity in June 2022, compared to May 2022.
Meanwhile, if we compare the same months of 2022 and that 2021, the annual inflation rate turns up 14.1% this June.
According to the AKS, this is largely explained with the rise of consumer prices in this period in COICOP sub-groups, such as bread and cereals that had up to 27.7% high growth, meat also increased by 19.6%, milk, cheese and eggs by 22,3%, oils and food fats with an increase of 53.8%, vegetables with 6.8%, sugar, jelly, honey, chocolate, and chocolates with 19,0% different food products, spices, vegetables, etc. With 12.8%, coffee, tea and cocoa at 17.9%, mineral water, non-alcohol beverages, tree juices and vegetables by 6.2%, alcoholic beverages at 7.0%, and tobacco at 4.8%.

In addition, price hikes have been recorded in things and other missile equipment, gardens and berries for 5.4%, in hotel services for 12.6%, and in personal care for 6.7%.
In June 2022, compared to June 2021, prices were found only in the trees with -8.4%, and electricity by -0.9%, which according to the AKS, has occurred due to the decline in consumption (expensions) of electricity in June 2022 compared to June 2021. /Periscopi/
