Fearful statistics, six people with heart attacks a day, affects 30-year-olds

The number of patients affected by a heart attack in Kosovo has increased significantly. In the recent three months, Cardiogenic Clinic has sought help from 561 patients with a heart attack, or 6 patients a day. This disease is affecting the 30-year-olds, although it's more common in procrastinated ages. As a cause for increasing number [...]
Since the beginning of this year, over 3 thousand patients have been lying in this clinic as a result of heart attacks and other cardiovascular diseases, while over 100 patients have lost their lives.
Patients most treated by heart attacks are those over 60 years old, but not young people are exempt. While the problem at the Cardiology Clinic remains the lack of beds.
Gent Hima, cardiologist at QKUKU, in an interview for Kosova Prees has said there is an increase in the number of heart attacks, as there are admissions of patients from all over Kosovo.
In the last three months of this year, we have a total of 561 patients with an acute miocard heart attack that has been about 187 patients a month with a heart attack, so six or seven patients with a heart attack a day... As for six months in 2022, we have patients with days of treatment, a total of 13,339 days, behind 3,009 patients, including patients with other cardiovascular diseases. And for six months the number of patients unfortunately dead was 105 patients. Day-to-day we have increased the number of patients with a heart attack because we have admissions of patients from all regions of Kosovo”, Hima stressed.
Hyma has said they need more beds.
Hyma: We need a bigger number of beds.
We still have a capacity of 75 beds in Cardiology Clinic at the moment, which means we still need a bigger number of beds, because the growth of acute miocard patients but also with other cardiovascular diseases is on the rise, and compared to last year we're growing bigger... Perhaps in the summer months, few numbers increase due to the high heat that reigns on our” trains, he said.
In the meantime, according to Dr. Himes, the male gender has been more familiar with heart attacks. Also involved in cardiac attacks are young people as well as seemingly healthy ones, but an unexpected heart attack can occur, which can result in death.
<x0) Maybe the male gender was a little bit more attuned than the female gender... We've had more cases of patients over 65 years of age, but it doesn't mean that we're not even having cases of young patients, we have patients aged 30 or 35 who come with an acute mouse attack... Patients who come with an acute miocard heart attack don't mean they come with pain, we have patients who come with no chest pain, but they've also had a miocard heart attack. These patients usually submit to urgent choreography procedures and some of them are surveyed, some of them remain for cardiosurgic revasing. But even after the acute Miocard heart attack, most patients feel good, but there are also times when we have a worsening situation”, he said.
Meanwhile, according to him in increasing the number of cases, the COVID may also have had an impact, but there is still no reliable data supporting this thesis.
The biggest number has grown, maybe a little bit the COVIED, but we're not sure about that, we still don't have certain information about whether or not it has, but it means it has affected the atmosphere as it looks like it's”, he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hima has added that with frequent and regular cardiologist checks, patients can do the prevention of a heart attack.
