Energy crisis: KEDS says stock prices have flown

As summer months pass, rumours that the energy crisis is approaching Kosovo have also begun to increase. Through a media communique, KEDS spokesman has called for citizens to save electricity, since electricity prices on the stock market have increased significantly. As stated in the communique, the record [...] has been broken these days.

The growth of demand on one side and the reduction of production on the other has caused electricity prices to fly across Europe. Energy prices for the previous day at Hungary's bell- HUPX, which was 295 EURO/MWh, for July 4th-10th, grew to 348 EURO/MWh, and on July 11th-17th and 419 EUR/MWh for July 18th-24th. For the first three days of this week's award is 506 Euro/MWh. The record has even been broken these days, reaching a moment at over 735 Euro/MWh”, said in communique.

This situation has reportedly hosted Kosovo as well. As a result, in addition to energy prices, the need for electricity has greatly limited shopping opportunities.

From KEDs, they say that in recent tenders in most cases they have accepted no offer. While it says that in the event of the offer, extremely high prices appear according to market conditions.

This situation has affected Kosovo as well. Besides energy prices, the need for electricity has greatly limited commercial opportunities. In the tenders we've been running recently, in most cases we haven't accepted any offers. In the event of the offer, extra high prices appear under market terms”, the communique stresses.

The KEDS point out that creating such a situation since summer makes the future even more uncertain.

The creation of these situations since summer leads to a very uncertain situation. Hence, under such circumstances we beg consumers to create savings mechanisms and direct the warming of their residential spaces from alternative forms for the winter season. The company of these actions significantly reduces the need for import and simultaneously increases supply security, which also depends greatly on the stability of local production”, said the communique.

European energy crisis affecting Kosovo as well

The whole of Europe is entering a deep energy crisis. As the old continent faces an extremely hot summer, high temperatures that break records each day have automatically increased demand for electricity. In addition to this increase, there is a huge decline in rainfall, seen below the seasonal average, causing electricity production to be much less than electricity power plants.

Drought, unable to transport coal to several thermal power plants through rivers in Germany, and the failure of nuclear power plants cooled from rivers in France made the situation even more critical. In addition, record natural gas prices are observed in Europe because of Russia's gradual decrease in gas flow.

Increasing demand on one side and reducing production on the other has caused electricity prices to fly across Europe.

Energy prices for the previous day at Hungary's bell- HUPX, which was 295 EURO/FALE, for July 4-10th, grew to 48th EURO/FALE, and on July 11th-17th and 419th Euro/Flight for July 18th-24th. For the first three days of this week's award is 506 FALSE. The record has even been broken these days, reaching a moment at over 735 Over.

This situation has also affected Kosovo. Besides energy prices, the need for electricity has greatly limited commercial opportunities. In the tenders we've been running recently, in most cases we haven't accepted any offers. In the event of the offer, extra high prices appear under market conditions.

Hence, under such circumstances we beg consumers to create savings mechanisms and direct the warming of their residential spaces from alternative forms for the winter season. The company of these actions significantly reduces the need for import and simultaneously increases supply security, which also depends greatly on domestic production stability.
