17 Kosovo villages begging to become municipalities

Local Power Management Minister Elbert Krasniqi has declared there are 17 villages seeking to become municipalities.

Krasniqi in Tv1, has indicated that in the report, he has accepted 17 requests for the formation of new municipalities, where these villages have estimated to be municipalities.

The “in the report I've accepted are about 17 requests for the formation of new municipalities. There are large villages that self-defect that must be municipalities. This discussion becomes very current during election time or before elections, especially from minority communities somewhere in parts of Kosovo I am saying no to Serbian”, he said.

According to him, these villages have not met formal criteria for discussion.
