In the course of Brexi, Stormeon, who is leader of the National Party of Scotland (SNP), says it is time to bring Scotland back to the European Union as an independent country.
The Scottish prime minister said “is ready to negotiate with the British government on terms of holding a second referendum on independence from the United Kingdom.
Underlining that she would write Tuesday to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, she said: “I will never allow Scottish democracy to be hostage to Boris Johnson or any other British prime minister. ”
“Scotland has paid a price for independence over generations. British governments for which we do not vote, impose policies that we do not support, very often preventing us from fulfilling our potential,” told the Scottish Parliament.
“Conservators have only six deputies in Scotland, which represents ten percent of Scottish representation, and yet they have put us out of the EU against our will,” said Stugeon.
She said the country's delegated parliament could move forward with a new independence referendum without the British government's consent.
United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his conservative Party, which is in opposition to Scotland, reject any such vote. They say the issue was resolved in 2014, when the Scottish electorate voted by 55 percent against exiting the United Kingdom. /rel
