Scholz stressed that Northern Macedonia has fulfilled all preconditions for starting membership negotiations.
“The negotiations for membership should start and I'll arrange for that. I encourage northern Macedonia to continue its commitment on the road to reforms”, he said.
Bilateral relations between the two countries, as he praised, are not only political but also economic, varied and close. That is an additional reason why Germany supports Northern Macedonia on its road to the EU.
While Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Kovachevski stressed that the German Chancellor's visit testifies to extremely good relations between the two countries.
