These attacks on the media, Haskuka has made them linked to the case of actor Johny Depp, who won the slander trial against former husband Amber Heard.
According to Haskuka, if the courts of Kosovo were like America, “a large part of our media was bankrupt, taking into account the amount of slander and disinformations.”
“Slander is a serious crime, the jury in the state of Virginia (SHBA) has ruled in favour of actor Johny Depp, $15m in damages and punitive damages after he won the libel trial. Had our courts been like in America, much of our media was bankrupt, taking into account the amount of defamation and deninforms. Freedom of speech is not the freedom of slander”, Haskuka wrote.
Haskuka's reaction comes after the Special Prosecutor has announced that he has launched investigations concerning allegations of corruption related to the country's institutions.
“Special Procurory has announced that they have launched investigations concerning allegations of close corruption in the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo”, said the release to the media.
Otherwise, the Democratic Party of Kosovo has published a document yesterday, saying the two government ministers Kurti Donika Grovalla and Fitim Damka are involved in a corrupt relationship.
According to the PDK, this suspicious and illegal approach has enabled the misuse of around 1.1m euros of Kosovo taxpayers.
The sentence is for a “Memorandum Co-operation”, between the Ministry of Regional Development and the Swiss Caritas, under which the budget of the Republic of Kosovo is illegally spent on many of the 1m and 40 thousand euros. This agreement has been signed and is already under way, but this is only after the official approach that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Donika Grovalla Scharzz has signed, thus encouraging and allowing the misuse of some 1 million of the 40m euros, MEP Musliu-Shoshi said.
In addition to Damka's Gervailla, yesterday the media have also been talking about a corrupt link in the Ministry of Infrastructure, which is led by Lieburn Aliu.
