Rama said that among those who contributed and told the world by word of the suffering of the Kosovo people, there were many foreigners with journalists.
Pristina's Municipal Assembly has held its solemn session today on the June 11th Day of Liberation of the Capital, where Rama said 23 years ago, Pristina was given back hope for freedom.
We are gathered here for Pristina Freedom Day. Today 23 years ago Pristina was given back hope for freedom. This day marks the end of NATO bombings in Kosovo because thousands of men and children sacrificed their lives for freedom. Thanks to them today, we enjoy that dream in our country. They have made June 11 a symbol of hope. In this new chapter, it is our turn to honor the work of those who sacrificed for freedom. We have a lot of work to do. Today we obey the fallen martyrs and their families. We obey banished citizens. Let's remember June 11th to work for the generations that are coming”.
And the Speaker of the Municipal Assembly, Fehmi Kupina, stressed that our obligation is never to stop working honestly for Pristina. “23 years ago, KLA forces had entered with the aim of preventing Serb forces. Today it is 23 years when Pristina breathes freely where thanks to the KLA and inadequate NATO aid we managed to drive Serbia away. In the midst of today, we also faced many challenges as a municipality. We are aware that we have difficulties improving living conditions. Pristina today has become a city that awaits all indiscriminately. Such achievements should not give us comfort. Therefore, the obligation is never to stop working honestly for Pristina. Happy Day of Pristina Liberation”
While representative of U n CK, Fatmir Sopi recalls student movements shaking the foundations of Yugoslavia“23 years ago our people's dream of freedom came true. We remember our grandparents who taught us in the spirit of patriotism. We remember student movements shaking the foundations of Yugoslavia. Respect for many organizations led by baca Adem Demci.
Adem Jashari and Zahir Pajaziti's flag organised war on Kosovo's liberation. The KLA has fought fair and as such won the support of the entire democratic world and had the greatest NATO force. We are witnessing judicial processes against KLA leaders who are unjustly located in The Hague instead of being Serb criminals”. / EO/
