North Korea has sent medical crews and epidemiological investigators to a province struggling with the outbreak of an intestine disease.
At least 800 families suffer from what North Korea has called an acute “pidem <x0).
Enteric refers to gastroinstinal leafing, and South Korean officials say it may be cholera or typhus, writes CNN, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
The new spread, reported for the first time on Thursday, puts further strains on the isolated country after struggling with chronic food shortages and a wave of infection COVID-19.
On Sunday, the state news agency KCNA detailed preventative efforts, including quarantine, “intensive scan for all residents”, providing special treatment and monitoring for children and the elderly.
The disinfectation work is under way, including sewage and other waste, to ensure the safety of drinking and domestic water, the report says.
The KCNA also reported 19,310 other new cases of fever on Sunday, without detailed how many of those patients had proved positive for the coronary.
