A street in the Bronx of New York, where many Albanians live, was named this Sunday by Albanian national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu.
With red and black flags and national clothing, children, women, and men had gathered to celebrate.
But part of the party was New York Mayor Eric Adams.
Through a tweet, Adamas laundered praise for Albanians.
He said Albanians are a large community in New York, who live the city. So do successful businessmen.
“We are home to the largest Albanian community in America. Albanians in the United States are owners of small businesses, first-line workers, who make our town live. It was an honour to join today to celebrate an Albanian national hero, Gjergji Kastriot Skenderbeu”, wrote the mayor.
In addition to the appointment that took the new route, another street in New York bears the name of prominent Albanian event, Fan Noley.

Meanwhile, New York is the first Albanian immigrant station to come from Europe to America.
Some of them remain in this developmental episode on the eastern coast of the continent, wide open to newcomers. The rest continue on their way to the depths of America. Of the two hundred thousand Albanians who were immigration into America after the 1990s, one fourth has stayed in New York.
These Albanian-Americans live in neighbourhoods in the Bronx, Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn, established according to areas from which they came from the Balkans.
We're home to the largest Albanian community in America. They're poor business persons, frontline workers and working families who make our own destiny.
