Russia” is today the most direct threat to world order with a barbarous fight against Ukraine and its disturbing pact with China and their call for new and many international arbitrary relations”, von der Leyen told reporters after talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and European Council President Charles Michel in Tokyo, broadcasts Kankosovatv.
Michel and von der Leyen are in Tokyo for the 28th EU-Japan summit, during which their support for Ukraine was on the agenda.
Our co-operation in Ukraine is critical in Europe, but it is also important in the Pacific and we also want to deepen our consultation for a safer China”, Michel told reporters.
“We believe that China must be established to protect the multilateral system from which it has benefited in the development of its country”.
Michel also said that “at that are responsible for war crimes must and will be brought to justice”.
Speaking with von der Leen and Michel, Kishida told reporters: Russia's “Aggression against Ukraine shocks the foundations of the entire international order, not only for Europe, but also for Asia, and it can never be forgiven”.
In response to Ukraine's Russian occupation, Japan and the European Union have imposed a series of sanctions against Russia, including freezing President Vladimir Putin's assets and members of his family.
