The World Press Freedom Index for 2022, published by Reporters Without Borders, ranks Kosovo 61st. This is Kosovo's highest ranking ever in the World Press Freedom Index, and comes as a result of improved for 17 countries.

Our government enjoys the progress of media freedom and considers it a common success.

We will continue to commit ourselves to making the media and media workers the most secure and appropriate environment so that they can exercise their profession free and unhindered.

Independent, free, objective and professional media are our allies in efforts to develop free and democratic society and preserve it. This year, thanks to the will of the parliamentary majority in the Assembly, for the first time, media workers have been included as the beneficiary category for free legal assistance.

On World Press Freedom Day, we congratulate the media and their representatives, and we thank them for their continued cooperation and reporting on government work.
