The programme of priorities of the Albanian Security Council presidency at the UN leadership table has been discussed at the meeting.
Once with the WTO chief, readiness to offer Albania's contribution to the service of peace and security, human rights and sustainable international development was discussed.
While at UN headquarters in New York Rama, there was a meeting of US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas Greenfield, who expressed the highest considerations for Albania's performance at the Security Council.
July 2nd morning, Prime Minister Rama will lead the Security Council's open-level debate on international accountability as one of our country's priorities on the Security Council, highlighted even more because of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
Albania takes over the presidency of the Security Council on June 1st, and this is the first time our country is given the mandate to head the world's highest decision-making table.
Albania has joined the UN Security Council, as a non-permanent member for the period 2022-2023. Our country has also claimed the responsibility of co-owner with the United States on the Ukrainian issue.
