Despite activism of the “emergency quarantine” to slow down the spread of the disease among the unexplored population, North Korea is now facing tens of thousands of new cases every day.
Only on Friday “over 174,440 had a fever, at least 81,430 were completely healed, and 21 died”, the news agency KCNA reported.
On Thursday, North Korea confirmed that the highly contagious version of the Coronavirus, Omitron, had been detected in Phenjan as northeastern leader Kim Jong Un ordered isolation throughout the country.
This was the first official confirmation of cases with COVID-19.
From the end of April 13th, over 524,440 people are sick, KCNA said, meanwhile, 27 deaths have been recorded so far.
The report on this agency was not specified whether the new cases and deaths were confirmed with COVID-19, but experts say this country is having difficulty testing and diagnosing people with coronarys.
North Korea has said that only one of the six deaths reported Friday had been positive for Coronavirus.
The northeastern leader, Kim Jong Un, said that this blast was causing “large treatments in North Korea as he attended a meeting to discuss the situation with the pandemic.
North Korea has one of the worst health systems in the world, and there is no vaccine against Coronavirus, nor is there antiviral medicine for treatment or capacity for mass testing, experts said.
