Montenegro's Special Prosecutor carried out investigation into Ambassador Martin Berishaaj

Montenegro's Special Prosecutor in an answer to Gazeta Express has confirmed that following reports in Slovenian media over allegations of involvement of Kosovo Ambassador to Croatia Martin Berisha, through his UK company Montenegro-based CONSULTTING, in a financial scandal in Slovenia, has begun investigations into the case.

Montenegro's Special Prosecutor has told Express that they have opened investigations about the case, and after collecting evidence in the preliminary phase of the investigation have found that there are any irregularities in terms of transactions worth 600 thousand euros made to Martin Berisha's firm from the GEN branch in Belgrade, nor as far as the operation of Ambassador Berisha's company MB Consulting.

Therefore, the prosecution says it has found that there is no basis to start prosecution against any person for any criminal offense that is under the jurisdiction of the State Special Prosecutor's Office, or any other criminal act that is pursued as an official duty.

With regard to your question, I inform you that the Special State Prosecutor has opened the case regarding the event mentioned. The preliminary investigation has been carried out where this prosecutor has collected information, documentation and specific evidence that results in no irregularities regarding the financial assets transaction that you mentioned and in the way of obtaining these assets, or in some other part of the function of the legal person “M.C.” DOO P.
