He said this is an ideal case for the country and that the Republic of Kosovo does not believe there will be another more convenient situation for membership in the Council of Europe.
However, Tahiri has two advice for the Government of Kosovo -- first, Russia's influence on the European Council and two -- the Government must compile an informational circuit for all embassies in Europe and the Council of Europe member states.
The membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe has a good moment to use. Developments in Ukraine and the decision to remove Russia from the Council of Europe are two events that could turn into our favour, if we work strategicly, systematically and inclusively”.
“During the visit to Strasbourg, in all meetings with MPs of the Parliamentary Assembly, we have not met in negative response to the type you should not apply. In fact, in most cases at these meetings we have found support and our optimism and encouragement.
Two important matters are: 1. Russia, while removed from the Council of Europe, still has an impact on the institution, the influence it exerts through its friendly countries, hence 2 Peter 2: 2. The government must compile an information circuit for all of our embassies in Europe and the Council of Europe member states. Each ambassador should contact the ministry of relevant foreign affairs to request that their country help us and vote in the Serbian Parliamentary Assembly”.
This is an ideal case for the country. The Republic of Kosovo does not believe there will be another more convenient situation for membership in the Council of Europe”, Tahiri wrote on Facebook.
