With the motto “The media are not the enemy”, the International Press Freedom Day is marked
AGK Chairman Xhemail Rexha has said that on this day of press freedom, we remember all those journalists who lost their lives.
He even stressed that governments should remember to respect the work of the media. “Today we are to mark the international press freedom day and it is a day that marks the importance of free media worldwide. You also think of all those journalists who lost their lives reporting at their workplace. To remind governments to respect media work. In Kosovo over the years, there have been attempts to control the media. The main thing is that the media is not the enemy. Over the years journalists have played a primary role in informing the public. What we expect is people in power to accept the work of journalism. Behavior to journalists made the journalist's work very difficult. When such turitives become daily, the lives of journalists are dangerous. We seek power to stop the boycott of the media”, Xhema said.
