Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy leader Vlora Citaku has once again sought from the leaders of Kosovo institutions not to take revenge from Ambassador Martin Berishaaj, but to pave the way for justice as soon as it dawns the truth of the vicinity in which he is involved.
In this case, Vice President Citaku has invited President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti to react politically and institutionally to his dismissal.
The “have been spending more than a month since Slovenian media have published the news, which included Kosovo's ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo in Croatia, Martin Berisha, in a suspicious scheme of money laundering and suspicious transactions. Following an immediate amnesty to Ambassador Berisha from President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Foreign Ministry now, and more than a month a deaf silence reigns. No statements, no announcements, no words concerning this regional scandal of Kosovo's highest representative in Croatia.” has said Deputy Mayor Citaku.
Furthermore, she has said that many questions that have been raised should be answered immediately.
“How has Ambassador Berisha given citizenship with extraordinary urgency? Has the Kosovo anti-corruption agency taken any action? Have Kosovo's prosecution initiated measures for false property statements by Ambassador Berisha? Has Ambassador Berisha indicated where 600 euros have gone, which he has withdrawn through his undeclared business? The calm and political inaction insticuional by Kosovo state leaders is the defence of Ambassador Berishaaj.”, Citaku has said.
On the other hand, Citaku has urged President and prime minister not to act like prosecutors or judges but to take political and institutional steps and to send Ambassador Berisha away from office, paving the way for justice institutions to say their word.
At a time when the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and our diplomacy failed to put Kosovo into the agenda of the Council of Europe, instead of the carriers of our institutions committed to Kosovo's membership in this institution, they are dealing with the protection of Ambassador Berisha, the person whom they have chosen. The secrecy and protection of this scandal by our highest state officials will not help Kosovo in its European agenda, rather, undermine our integration path.”, Citaku said.
In the end, she has said that the Democratic Party of Kosovo will not allow this relation and this scandal to be forgotten in silence.
“We will use all institutional and parliamentary mechanisms to ensure that the truth will be clarified.”, the PDK deputy chairman, has concluded.
