Belgrade again threatened, now for bombings placed on city bridges

Following threatening bomb reports placed in Belgrade elementary schools, the 16 May afternoon brought new threats that bombs had been placed in bridges in Belgrade, as well as at the “shopping centre Stadium” (Stadion), confirmed the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs said [...]

Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs said that Branko Bridge, Gazela Bridge, the new railway bridge, as well as the Pancevo Bridge are among the locations where bomb reports are received.

The bomb report has reached the mall “Belgrade's” Stadium, where the match between KF Vojsovci and KF Partizan is scheduled at 16:30.

Reports of the deployed bombs have arrived, on the morning of May 16th, at 97 Belgrade primary and secondary schools, meanwhile after verifications in a large number of schools have been found to be false reports, Serbia's Education Ministry announced.

Students have returned to classes, while in schools where security inspection continues, students have been sent home, the ministry's communique says.

Until 2: 00 p.m., police have inspected 60 elementary and 13 secondary schools in Belgrade and have been found to be of false concern, while others are being inspected”, declared Slavko Gak, secretary for education and child protection, in a statement published on the Belgrade town website.

As he pointed out, there is no relaxation until the last school is inspected.

“Security is the most important thing in situations like this”, Gak said.

Reports have reached, among other things, in primary schools “King Peter II Karadjevich”, “Vldomir Rolloviq”, “Jexqi”, “Kish”, “Shan Sava” and “Drin Pavllovq”, air RTS-

According to RTS, parents have received messages not to bring their children to school, school has not begun, and children who have already arrived at school are returning home.

Also, Nis police on the morning of May 16th have received notice that at the “Grand Constantin” airport in that city, a bomb had been placed.

Police confirmed to Beta agency that an anti-diversant raid is under way and that reporting is most likely false.

This is the second bomb report posted in Nis within a month, while there have been false reports of bombs placed in even the city's shopping centres.

Two false reports that explosive vehicles were located at the New Belgrade railway station and the Belgrade Zoo were also sent 15 May.

A report, in the row of false reporting, was Friday, May 13th, when bomb threats were sent to the addresses of three shopping centers and four student dormitories in Belgrade.

In recent months, since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, public objects in Belgrade have been the target of false bomb reporting.

Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs had earlier announced that due to bomb reports, it will seek assistance through international operational police co-operation to obtain information about the boss, organisers and perpetrators of this crime.

So far, authorities in Serbia have not disclosed who is responsible for these false reports.

It has been said that the threats to the suspected bombings came from outside, with e-mail, from an encrypted service, which, unlike other servants, does not store data. /rel/
