The WFP is concerned that if the hatches are not empty soon, there will be nowhere to preserve this summer's harvest, causing massive waste and further increasing global food prices.
Earlier today, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation said 25 million tonnes of grain are currently blocked in Ukraine, while its Black Sea ports are closed.
