Yesterday, Kosovar said only 50,000 apply for visas: President talks to Meta about liberalisation

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has held a virtual meeting with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, with whom they discussed a series of topics, since visa liberalisation for Kosovo, the current situation in Europe following Russia's fight against Ukraine, as well as Kosovo's commitment to peace and dialogue.

Thanks to President Metsola for her dedication to accelerating the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo citizens, Osmani reiterated that the people of Kosovo are the most pro-European people in the world, so the right to travel freely must be guaranteed without delay.

European “Velrates are embedded in the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, and the continued progress of our country in different indicators of democracy and the fight against corruption are evidence that our only future is in the European family. We are committed to strengthening our relationship for a fair and equal journey towards the European Union”, the president Osmani stressed.

In this conversation, Osmani briefed Metsola on Kosovo's goal of membership in international organisations, institutional efforts for recovery from pandemic and Kosovo's constructive role in the dialogue process with Serbia. Meanwhile, President Matsola thanked Osman for co-ordinating Kosovo with Western partners for the war in Ukraine and reaffirmed the European Parliament's continued visa liberalisation bid.
