It is Mehdi Halimi, Kosovo's ambassador to France, who apparently did not fully understand the diplomatic mission entrusted to this friendly state.
While it is not preferred in diplomacy, to appoint diplomats to serve the country in states where they own citizenship, Ambassador Halimi, who is paid about 3 thousand euros a month to represent and protect Kosovo's interests, has voted in France today, has made his move public and has rightly appealed to Kosovars to come out and vote in today's elections there.
Kosovo diplomats are barred from engaging in activities that could be assessed as interventions in domestic affairs of the state or the states where they hold the event.
I voted in the Presidential elections in France. I invite all Kosovars with the right to vote on this civic right,”, wrote Kosovo Ambassador to France Mehdi Halimi.

Mehdi Halimi, Kosovo Ambassador to France
Based on the Law on Foreign Service of Kosovo, Article 32, which includes the duties of foreign service officers, the officer is obligated to exercise honestly and correctly the positions and duties charged, in accordance with orders, instructions and regulations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international acts and the legislation of the Republic of Kosovo.
Among other things, under this law, the foreign service officer is in charge: “to protect the interests of the state of Kosovo and the citizens and legal persons of the Republic of Kosovo in the state or states where he is accredited and exercises his functions; suspend his activity in one party, organisation or political association during the foreign service period; Keep, in all circumstances, a decent and professional moral attitude; Do not make statements contrary to the position of the Republic of Kosovo in relations with other states or international organisations; To respect the laws and regulations of the state or of the states where it has been accredited, and not be included in activities that can be valued as interventions in domestic affairs of the state or the states where it operates; To exercise its activity in line with the immunitys and privileges you enjoy as a member of the diplomatic mission; Not to exercise in the state or states where business activity or any other profitable activity on behalf of either his or his family” is a different paragraph of Article 32 of this law.
The violation of such an obligation, according to this law, provides reason for a measure of discipline.
While, in Article 14, where the chief of the diplomatic mission is presented, the ambassador in this case represents and acts only on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo in the receptive state or international organisations.
In paragraph 1.3, it is also said to issue statements and maintain positions on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo, says Democracy.com.
Also, each Kosovo diplomat, before heading on a diplomatic mission, signed a declaration pledging impartiality, both political and any other nature.
