Russia has declared two Bulgarians and 45 Polishs, members of embassies and consulates in Russia, such as “persona non grata”, as these two states had expelled from their countries the same number of Russian diplomats.
The move is in response to Bulgaria's unmotivated decision, which in March proclaimed non grata.'" two Russian Embassy diplomats in Sofia”, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on April 8th.
In a separate report, this ministry also said it has expelled 45 Polish diplomats. Poland said in March that it had expelled Russian diplomats, since he suspected they were working for Russian intelligence.
Russia said it has told Polish Ambassador to Moscow that the expulsion of diplomats was indicating “proposed to Warsaw's unjustified” decision to expel Russian diplomats.
Since April 4th, over 200 Russian diplomats have been expelled from European states in response to Ukraine's unprotested Russian invasion.
