Assistant Secretary Blinken in an interview for the newspaper Politika has said it is Serbia's decision whether to impose sanctions on Russia.
The sanctions issue now is certainly on the table in front of Serbia. We support Serbia in further harmonisation with the United States and the EU. It is important that the United States support Ukraine in the war, but also to inform Russia that it must pay the price for what it does. This is our position and Serbia must decide for itself how it will act when it comes to sanctions”, Donfried has said.
Regarding Serbia's possible sanctions on Russia, a version has been given by British journalist Francis Scar.
According to him, with today's reports of Serbian newspapers against Putin, the ground is being prepared for Serbia to impose sanctions on Russia.
