Neime Binaku Isufi was nominated today in the decision instead of Iron Nikqi, and instead of Shpend Miftar has been replaced by Violet Blakay Spaci.
On 9 March, the government had proposed to the assembly the names for mayor and members of the AKK Commission.
Iron Nikqi was nominated for chairman; Kaltrina Sela for deputy chairman, while Shpend Miftari, Besnik Stublla and Nazie Nosdautaj were nominated for members of this commission.
Under the Law for the Protection of Competition, the chairman, deputy chairman and members of the Kosovo Competition Commission are nominated by the Government and appointed by the Assembly of Kosovo.
Since June of last year when the mandate of last president and commission has ended, the AKK does not have this functional body.
The basic mandate of the AKK is to protect free competition, and that means that the AKK acts when violated, hampered or distorted market competition.
