The Constitutional Court in Pristina has imposed temporary measures on the Energy Regulatory Office's decision to expensive electricity.
The execution of the decision No.077/22 on 09.02.2022 published on the 1602.22th Day of the Pristina Energy Regulatory Office until the court decides with the final judicial ruling in terms of the indictment of”.
On February 9th, 2022 has entered into force new electricity tariffs, which are more expensive for 100% for consumers spending over 800 kilowatts per hour a month. This amount of energy is spent on most consumers who have no other heating resources except the current.
We remember that the PDK had announced on March 18th that it indicted the Energy Regulator's Office.
The ZERE decision deserves judicial consideration in the competent court, in addition to the fact that it does not engage in the new tariff facility of the electricity payment of four northern municipalities, thereby discriminating citizens of the rest of the country. Z The RRE, not including in the new tariff structure of electricity payment, four northern municipalities, in addition to discriminating on the basis of the settlement, has also directly contributed to violating the principle of rule of law and extending state sovereignty to the northern part of the state. The controversial decision also has shortcomings in view of meeting the legal conditions of the administrative procedure, which will certainly be argued and tested in the contraryial procedure at court”, the PDK report said.
The Kosovo Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) has approved new electricity tariffs in February. The ZRR Department for Tarifa has said that the increase in bill prices will observe consumers spending over 800 kilowatts per hour within the month.
Tax consumers over 800 kilowatts per hour will have the high fee of 12.5 cents per kilowatt and 5.9 cents per low fee. For consumers who spend up to 800 kilowatts per hour per month, the high rate will be 7 cents, while the low one, 3 cents. According to the ZRRE, the blockade is not discriminatory because “is implemented simultaneously for all consumers”. For businesses there will be no tariff blocks. To ease the burden of citizens from the expected electricity price increase, the Government of Kosovo has allocated a total of 75m euros in subvention for them. Government subsidies will be exploited for a period of one year.
In recent months, Kosovo has entered an energy crisis, due to the similar crisis that has engulfed Europe./ P ERISCOPI/
