Italian coach Fabio Capello has expressed his concerns about the current Italian football situation, naming the latter far from the football of other countries.
Italy's national failed for the second time to qualify for the World Champions, after being defeated by Northern Macedonia in the qualifying phase, Kosovo passes.
Likewise, no Italian team has managed to touch the quarterfinals of this Champions League season, which for Capello is no good thing.
Italian football is way behind everybody. Ball doesn't move fast, judges stop playing often. Any intervention is foul, so there is never intensity, our teams don't know how to keep pace with the” game, Capello said.
“We are lagging behind in every aspect, but the main problem is that the best players don't come to Italy anymore, so there are no comparisons with the good. It could take eight years to fix Italian football, because here everybody intervenes. As for the youth sector, those in charge of this need to take a lesson from Spain, because they work in the player technique not in tactics”, the Italian coach added further.
