Members of the group called “Pohonia Battalon” are between the ages of 19 and 60. Nearly no one has experience in combat, and for this reason, they perform the exercise with a toy tin. Among them are professional poker players, musicians and election players.
Their leader is the restaurant manager, Vadim Prokopiev. I started calling for Belarusns to join the war in Ukraine. Because after that will come the fight for Belarus”, he tells CNN.
Most members of the group, as well as Prokopiev, left their country in 2020, when Belarus's President, Alexander Lukashenko, backed by his ally Putin, printed protests after winning the elections, which were contested by the opposition.
