“Today is the National Day of Missing Persons in Kosovo. For the sake of a better future, all the families of the missing deserve answers to the fate of their loved ones. I call on all relevant institutions to do more to illuminate the fate of missing persons”, Abbott wrote on Facebook.
Kosovo has emerged from the 1998-99 war with over 13,000 people killed, over 800,000 displaced and over 6,000 missing.
Hundreds of Albanians killed by Kosovo have been found in mass cemeterys in Serbia, which, reportedly, have been borne by Serb forces to hide crimes.
So far, around 1,000 people have been returned from Serbia to Kosovo.
