The family was able to escape the besieged Ukrainian city, but their parents were left behind.
After fleeing northeast to the central city of Dnipro, Tania said Russia's bombings have erased Marioupolis from the map, and it is only a matter of time before other cities in Ukraine face the same fate.
There's no city there anymore. There is no more a city of Marioupolis, no residential building left. Only 10 percent of people left there. Only pensioners without money or cars who cannot save people who cannot walk,” said Tania
The family rarely left the basement if it was not absolutely necessary to survive, leaving just to find food and water, reports CNN, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
Once they went out to help bury neighbors killed by Russian artillery while waiting in line for food.
The couple said they felt that Russian forces were targeting groups of civilians waiting in line for food, water, or a pharmacy.
They were killing us. If we met in a group to find water, they just shot us at”, Tania said away.
