The agency said the forecast was uncertain and presented three scenarios ranging from 27 thousand to 212 thousand refugees from now until June.
Sweden is in the process of preparing sports halls, warehouses and exhibition centres to house outgoing Ukrainians.
“The highest scenario involves prolonged and growing brutality in conflict and that the conflict is moving westward in Ukraine. Unfortunately, these are the things we are now seeing”, the head of the Migration Agency, Michael Ribbenvik, said at a press conference.
The UN said today that a total of 2.5 million people have fled Ukraine so far, with most of those passing through Poland.
