This is the highest figure among all member states of the Organisation for Co-operation and Economic Development (OECD). Even in the U.S., when record figures of $4 (U.S.) have been registered for the galloon increase over the past week, American citizens are the last to be listed for the percentage of wages dedicated to gasoline.
According to joint research from O ECD and Global Petrol Prices, American citizens have had to pay 1.2 percent of their salaries for 60 liters of gasoline. The neighboring state, Canada, is approximately 1.9 percent.
Citizens of Mexico are forced to pay 4.8 percent of their wages for 60 liters of gasoline.
While Denmark's citizens are forced to pay 2.2 euros per litre of Octan 95 gasoline, a full tank would receive only three percent of their monthly salary. The average salary in Denmark is 4480 euros. Meanwhile, Greek car owners pay around 1.9 euros per litre, though their average salaries are about 2,000 euros per month.
