A great friend of Kosovo died today: Busek's connection to our country since his first visit here in 1987

Austria's former deputykancellari and one of Kosovo's biggest friends, Erhard Busek, has died today at the age of 81.
He had his first visit to Kosovo in 1987, where he also held political faces at the time.
Busek was the first person to enable the admission of Kosovo students to Austrian universities.
The deceased had lobbied every time and supported Kosovo's struggle for freedom and independence.
In 2009, Erhard Busek had received the title Doctor Honoris Causa of Pristina University “Hasan Pristina”.
Erhard Busek was also the co-ordinator of the Stability Pact, which existed in 1999, the institution was tasked with helping the region. The countries that were involved in the Stability Pact assistance programme were: Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro.
