The EU condemns arms export from Serbia to Myanmar: You will be responsible for the crimes

A year after the coup in Myanmar, the European Parliament prepared a resolution on that country condemning the violent change of government, human rights violations, political arrests and the drowning of democracy. The EP resolution, which will be discussed by the Euro-deputs tomorrow, proposes that Serbia be punished, which reportedly [...]
In the draft resolution, it is said that the European Parliament in many cases has voiced its condemnation of human rights violations and systematic and widespread attacks on the Ringya population in Myanmar.
Besides, The EP criticises the fact that most military figures, which monitored the attacks, remained in their positions and the fact that the government in Meinmar refused to co-operate with UN mechanisms.
Resolution's text particularly condemns Serbia for exporting missiles and artillery to the military in Myanmar. Along with Serbia, China and Russia are also mentioned in the EP resolution.
“The EP strongly condemns supply of weapons and military equipment to Tatmadau (Munmar Army) from China, Russia and Serbia. We stress that countries such as China, Russia and Serbia, which supply weapons to the Myanmar junta, are directly responsible for the crimes committed with these” weapons, the text says.
The document says that the European Parliament expresses regret that the UN Security Council did not discuss the draft resolution on Myanmar and calls on member states to step up pressure on the UN Security Council in order to achieve unity in adopting sanctions, which would include stopping travel and freezing the property of the junta leadership and military representatives, as well as introducing a comprehensive global arms embargo on Myanmar.
This, as stated in the Resolution, would mean suspending any shipment, sale or indirect transfer of weapons and items of dual use, ammunition and other military and security equipment.
In the document, The EP called on member states and associated countries to support the embargo for procurement, sale and indirect transfer, including transit, sending weapons, ammunition and other equipment, and stressed the need for further investigation by the International Court for Crimes.
On February 1, 2021, Myanmar's army organized a coup and arrested then leader Aung San Suu Kyi. It is accused of corruption, rebellion and election fraud and has recently been sentenced to four years in prison.
That is why the European Parliament deputies will be presented tomorrow a draft resolution, whose content, as taught, is harmonised with all parliamentary groups.
The early part of the resolution says the EP strongly condemns the violent and illegal rule of the military junta in Myanmar, which reportedly is trying to change the strong devotion of Myanmar's people to democracy.
