Erdogan after meeting with Scholz, Turkey calls for permanent ceasefire in Ukraine

Turkey's President, Recep Tayip Erdoğan, at a news conference after meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, has said Turkey will decisively continue its efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

Erdogan said Turkey and Germany agreed to step up diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis by taking measures for European security.

He stressed that both countries are committed to increasing the volume of bilateral trade to $50 billion.
