Users of electronic cigarettes and hooks may be at greater risk than smokers in nose cancer, sinus, and throat, according to a new study.
This is because the users of vapors and nergys are more likely to smoke through their nose than cigarette smokers, who usually smoke through their mouth, explained researchers.
Our “findings suggest that the unique way smokers and nergys use their equipment can expose noses and sinuses to emissions much larger than cigarettes”, said lead author of the study Emma Carey, a postdoctoral researcher at NYU Langone Health in New York City.
These may increase their risk of higher respiratory diseases, Karey explained in a report on medical news centres.
Researchers observed 123 steamers and 122 cigarette smokers on the streets of New York City. They also monitored 96 people who smoked inside two narco bars.
They found that 63% of evaporators and 50% of narchy smokers breathed through their nose, compared to 22% of cigarette smokers.
Past research has shown that both electronic cigarettes and energy expose the user's respiratory system to higher levels of nicotine, carbon monoxide and other toxic chemicals than cigarettes and traditional cigars.
