BSPK protests April 8th in Pristina, requires addition of 100 euros until the adoption of the wage law

The Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo (BSPK) has warned protests on April 8th with the demands for addition of 100 euros to any employed until the adoption of the wage law, implementation of the Health Insurance Law and changing the Law on Pension Scheme. After the price surge in essentials, BSPK Chairman Attack and Hykoki applied for the 100 euro extension is estimated at minimum.

“BSPK yesterday had a regular meeting with executive leadership and, in addition to recent developments, we decided on April 8th to protest and our demands are minimal and very fair. We have demanded that every Kosovo employee receive an additional 100 euros because of the prices we have today. It is the law of pension schemes, which only discriminates against Kosovo Albanian employees, as well as the law that has passed in 2011, that health insurance can be experienced as soon as possible and that all employees will be able to exploit”, he said.

Hycol has made it known, that they have no notice that the law on wages is back to zero, while adding that they are obliged to assume the plight of employees themselves.

I believe that we will have social dialogue with our social partner, the Government of Kosovo, so that it will not continue (protesta), otherwise the union regulation law is so that it enables us to stage strikes and protests until our goals are achieved. The union has a mission to protect employees' rights... after the protest we will see its results, see what further steps will be made... Political parties have been in power for 22 years and have been able to build our well-being. We're union and we're going to get the plight of employees in our hands”, says Hykoli for Kosovas.

Hycol shows they had meetings with Government, but they didn't get any answers to their demands.

We've had, we've had social dialogue, but we still don't have results from what we've had... We don't have something that we see a document or something else that our demands have moved forward”, he said.
