British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has said Russia faces a large “challenge to enter the main Ukrainian cities, as armed forces and civilians are expected to fight the enemy by all means possible.
He has said it is part of Russian military doctrine to surround urban city centres and bomb “without distinguishing” until a small portion of the population remains to receive what is left.
But he has said that Ukraine's geographical size and the population of 44 million people would make Russia's “very difficult”.
The invasion of a state of overwhelming force is one thing, and the conquest of a population of 44 million people who do not love you is something else entirely”
He has said British broadcaster BBC that it is not in favour of NATO making a decision to stop flights, saying that any violation of the decision from Russia's side, “could lead to war around Europe”.
