That number, according to them, includes 406 people killed and 801 injured.
However, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights spokeswoman Liz Throssell warned that the numbers “could be much higher”.
Most of the injuries are the result of <x0) air attacks and weapons shooting”, the UN said.
A journalist has been reportedly killed.
The UN also expressed concern about, as it said, “the arbitrary halting” of pro-Ukrainian supporters in areas controlled by the Russian Army, as well as the “violent” against those considered as pro-Russian in territories controlled by the Ukrainian government.
Earlier, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Philippo Grandy said that the number of people displaced from the war in Ukraine has exceeded two million.
Refugees reached that figure only on the 13th day of war.
Grandi said that, by comparison, Balkan wars in Bosnia and Kosovo have caused two to three million displaced, but “in a period of eight years”.
The largest number of Ukrainian refugees has entered Poland: over 1.2 million.
Russia has launched the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February, as it has not received assurances from NATO that it will no longer expand eastward. / REL
