Poland wants American soldiers to stay behind the temporary mission

Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau will ask Washington that the new American troops, who will be part of US President Joe Biden's decision to send an additional military contingent to Eastern Europe, remain there after the provisional mission's end, a Polish official said today before leaving [...]
The Biden administration announced on Wednesday that it was sending 3,000 additional troops to Europe and Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Blazzak said 1,700 troops would arrive in Poland from that number.
“It is natural that Polish diplomacy is looking for ways to increase the presence of allies in the form of permanent rotation”, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydac told Reuters.
Minister Rau in Washington tomorrow will meet with State Secretary Antony Blinken to determine when and where US troops will be deployed in Poland and possible sanctions against Russia will be discussed.
