British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stated that Russia should be “backed up” from any military action against Ukraine, stressing that Britain will stand against “against” Kiev, writes BBC.
During a media conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the British prime minister said Russia's invasion would be “a humanitarian and political catastrophe”, as well as “military disaster”, the Telegrafi broadcast.
“Time is important”, he said, accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of the chaos created along the border line with Ukraine.
He also acknowledged that Putin is trying to undermine “the great benefits”, which came after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
“A series of sanctions and other measures are being prepared if the leg of any Russian soldier passes on Ukrainian territory”, Johnson said.
It is important that Russia withdraw and choose the path of diplomacy and I believe that such a thing is possible. We are pro-enacting in dialogue, but we also have sanctions nearly”, the British prime minister added.
