The main defendant, a 37-year-old Kosovo citizen, has been sentenced to five years in prison, while his 36-year-old associate, also from Kosovo, to two years and seven months in prison.
Two convicts have apologised shortly before the verdict was announced, writes the German DPA News Agency. The court process has been significantly cut thanks to an agreement in which the two accused have accepted almost all their ethnicities as a whole.
The top indictee has acted between December 2019 and July 2021 throughout Germany, in various groupings with various associates. As revealed during the process, it has been controlled and monitored for a long time before the strike took place.
With a network of companies, frequent names, and forged passports, he rented, among other things, mini-caves, wheelloaders, and other machines. However, the machines in question were not returned but rented or sold.
The 37-year-old has also been found illegally owned by a firearm with ammunition. 38 works in the process have been witnessed to him, while his associate has finally witnessed participation in about 16 works.
At the beginning of the procedure, the public prosecution had reported about 100 known cases, of which only a few were charged. The prosecutor has estimated that the total potential damage is at least 1.4m euros.
In the course of the agreement regarding the admission of the two accused's work, the proceedings included a sentence of between five and five and a half years to the principal author and a sentence of two years and six months to two years and nine months for the accomplice.
Public prosecution and defence have subsequently submitted their requests in this context, broadcast albinfo.ch. The decision is not yet legally binding. Review is possible.
The convicts must be banished after the prison's suffering. The two Kosovo men were also staying illegally in Germany.
