Government sources said the Foreign Office and Commonwealth will use new legislation to impose restrictions on people and organisations related to the Russian state, the BBC writes.
They said this was expected to be the first tranche of sanctions to be reached “if there were any Russian troops' movements on Ukrainian territory.
Earlier, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss wrote in Tateter that “we will not allow Russia's violation of its international commitments to remain unpunished”.
“Tomorrow we will announce new sanctions on Russia in response to international law violations and the attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, Liz Truss wrote.
