67 Parliament deputies are compensated for trips from other towns to the Assembly, 36 of them from the Vetevendosje Movement.
After publishing these expenditures, VV deputies decided to voluntarily withdraw from the travel compensation.
On this issue the chief of LDK deputies, Arben Gashi, said it is an individual issue of each and that it is a violation of MP's rights if this decision is imposed as a Parliamentary Group.
“It's a matter of the Parliamentary Group's decision, it's a matter of individual decisions and deputies, what you're entitled to is their right whether they want to exploit right or not. I can't impose on them the parliamentary group's decision, I think it's a violation of their rights if I impose on them. Vetevendosje is a party to the opinion of collective measures that do not match the LDK's political opinion. The decisions are individual and the responsibility is individual in this case”, Gashi told Gazeta Express.
He said the problem with compensation for the trip of MPs who are defined by regulations is whether the trip of MPs or not from other cities really happened.
“These are the expenses of the MP's travel, if they do not reside in Pristina, and with a assembly decision it is decided to compensate. The problem is the way Vetevendosje was built, first and second, whether those trips really happened or not. If it really happened from point A to point B, and the presumption that the MP compensates is not a problem, but if the trip didn't happen and the MP has said that's the problem. The retreat is not a solution, the solution is administrative measure and political measures for fraud or false statements. The LDK on political issues has group decisions, while on individual issues it is individual right”, Gashi said.
